However, students who have tried other certification organizations prefer us for our versatility, accessibility, and ease of certification and renewal. What’s in a typical PALS course?

A Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) online course includes learning the medical procedures and techniques designed for the urgent treatment of respiratory emergencies, cardiac arrest, and other life-threatening situations with pediatric patients.

PALS certification courses also teach advanced skills such as:
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) rhythm interpretation for core PALS rhythms
  • Airway management and appropriate adjuncts
  • PALS drugs and pharmacology
  • Practical application of PALS rhythms and drugs
  • Effective high-performance team skills for Basic Life Support and PALS.
Because good Pediatric Basic Life Support (BLS) skills are foundational to PALS skills, we strongly encourage completing a BLS certification in addition to earning your PALS certification. In many cases, BLS is a prerequisite for taking the PALS online course.

Students who enroll in the ProPALS course are required to have already obtained the basic knowledge and skills in Advanced Life Support.
